I've been working hard the last few months at overcoming my fears and following my dreams. So I'm running a series of interview with inspiring people to see what part fear has played in their life and how they've overcome it to live life their way...
Hey! Tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! I'm Danielle, a twenty-something stay at home mama living in a small town with my husband and son. I blog over at Sometimes Sweet, so feel free to stop over and say hello! I'd love to meet you.
Is the life you lead now, the life you've always dreamt of??
It's kind of neat to say this, but yes! Before I had my son I was an English teacher, and I absolutely loved that, but there's always been a part of me that dreamed of staying home to take care of my family. When I met my husband and eventually discussed what we wanted from our futures, it was neat that he also had the same idea as far as one of us being at home with our future kids. I really, really enjoy it and feel so fortunate that I'm about to. I couldn't imagine it any other way!
When you have faced difficulties, what has been your inspiration to keep going?
I honestly just keep thinking about past obstacles I've been through, and remembering how tough it seemed at the time...but in the end I always got through them. Things always seem worse when you're in the middle of them, and I think it's so helpful to try and recall the big picture when times get tough. As far as inspiration, my Mom is probably my biggest source of that. She's had to deal with many health issues but continues to stay incredibly positive and always smiling.
Fear affects us all at some point. What part has fear played in your life and how have you overcome it?
I do believe in mind over matter, and I do a lot of visualization to get over things. I run situations through in my mind, imagining the best possible outcome, and I think this helps a lot with getting past fear.
What advice would you offer on following your heart and living your dreams?
You only live once, and life is far too short to waste any time doing something you don't love. I really want to look back on my life and be proud of the adventures I took and the dreams I followed, and I think that it's so important to follow your bliss, wherever it takes you. Surround yourself with positivity and your world becomes positive.
What do you think are the three most important things you need to lead a happy and radiant life?
1) loving yourself
2) loving others
3) staying in the positive
