after a busy busy week last week, we had a chilled weekend - caught up on some housework, enjoyed the sunshine and did a little crafting. one of the things i made was a cute tissue paper garland - this one's hung across the doorway into my craft/office space. my mr came home and said it looked like a fairy grotto :)
i have plans to make some more of these - thinking of one with fabric tassel's as a backdrop for birthdays. it took approx 20 minutes from start to finish, all you'll need is some sheets of tissue paper and a length of ribbon to hang it.
****
fold each sheet of tissue paper in half, then cut that in half, so you have two pieces of folded in half tissue paper. then cut strips from the not folded side, stopping about an inch and a half before the fold.
open that sheet out, like below, then start to fold over and roll up the centre strip, until you reach the other end
gently twist the centre fold and loop over and twist like below
repeat with the rest of the tissue paper until you have a nice pile of tassels
when you have them all made, thread onto a length of ribbon and then hang in place :) you can space the tassels out once it is in place.
Cute, cute idea! Thanks for sharing. I may have to try this. Have a great day!
