easing back into this online world.... i disconnected on friday, and took the weekend off. it was a much needed break from everything. as much as i love the amazing community i have online, sometimes all the extra noise can get overwhelming. a weekend without checking emails, fb, twitter, instagram, etc was bliss. we baked, we played, we crafted, we enjoyed a slow{er} pace of life for a few days. it gave my mind some peace and quiet, some time to mull things over, time to release some negative vibes, to shake off a few crazy feelings and time to regroup.

i plan on making it a more regular thing - either one day a week, or one whole weekend a month. i'm not setting it in stone, i'll take it week by week and see what feels right.

hope that you all had a great weekend

custom mantra bracelet giveaway >>>>

ever since i made my own mantra bracelet with my word for the year on, i've felt that word embedding itself into my very being. i have barely taken it off and i've been blessed with how many other souls have requested one with their word for the year on.

so today, i'm offering one of you the chance to win a custom mantra bracelet of your own. you get to pick what is stamped on it, it could be your word for the year, a phrase/word that just speaks to you, or anything else you can think of!

I'm also throwing in a pair of gorgeous postcards from moonlight and hares. i came across them on pinterest, without a source, posted them here on my pretty things and thankfully a reader pointed me in the right direction. such beautiful images - my two are framed and hanging in my office.

i can't remember how i first came across keri-anne and her amazing photography. i think it was through her instagram stream... such beautiful images, i love when one pops up in my feed. her photos capture childlike stories and tell fairytales in their beauty. they are enchanting images, so playful and whimsical.

keri-anne has an equally gorgeous blog and an etsy full of her photographs - both worth a look. when i can decide which, i'm going to order some prints for the girls rooms.

what mama wore >>>>

= mama style =
dress - thrifted
layering cardigan - obella organics
skirt - violet bella
legwarmers - handmade
wellies - c/o joules
headband - c/o obella organics

i snuck out in a brief break from the rain to shoot these yesterday. honestly, it was such a grey wet day. we stayed home, did some crafting, painted, read stories, made a quiche, caught up on some work {mama} and  watched a few cartoons.

this might be the last time you see this hair colour. i bleached the ends last night, intending to put some colour back on this morning. however, i left in on a while longer than normal, and ended up with blonde ends! i was mildly excited ha! so, i've been thinking for a while about getting the black out. so i'm off to buy some colour remover and start the process. thinking about going for an ombre effect.. who knows!! i'll keep you posted ;)

i'm just about caught up on orders for my soul mantra bracelets. i've been amazed and blessed by all the orders! now, we're heading out to the library - this mama needs some different stories to read!

farm dreams >>>>

1. happy chickens. 2. a giant pile of leaves i raked up
3. mud bath 4. mushroom table & stools

we've had almost spring like weather here the past couple of days. it's much appreciated, i'll tell you! after all the rain, it's so nice to have dry, sunny, warm{ish} weather! we've been making the most of it and spending as much time as we can outside, i'm sure it won't last long.

yesterday after i cleaned out the chickens, i spent a couple of hours tidying the bottom half of our garden. G built me a couple of vegetable beds last autumn, and i'm beginning to make plans for getting them filled. i've got some seed potatoes and onions ready, as well as some tomato seed to sow indoors. i've been browsing the organic gardening catalogue, getting ready to order some other seeds. we don't have as much space as i'd like to grow our own, but a little is better than nothing, right?

the yearning to have my own small holding has grown stronger since getting our chickens. i dream of an old farmhouse, chickens, ducks, goats, maybe even a piggie running around my feet. i have vague memories of my grandmas farm, feeding the geese with my little red bucket, getting pecked {i was tiny, younger than two} both sets of grandparents were farmers, it's something that is in my blood.

one day i hope and pray we get to make this dream come true.

saturday blessings >>>>

happy saturday lovely folk! i woke up feeling super happy today {despite having really bad hip pains that kept me awake all night... wtf???}

it's sunny and we're planning a trip to the park, we might even brave a january picnic! i'm determined to make weekends more fun time and less work time! apart from a couple of orders that need shipping, i plan on relaxing, and getting in some crafting time.

if you follow me on facebook//instagram you might have seen the bracelet i made myself yesterday:

after a LOT of requests {thankyou!} i've gotten custom word mantra bracelets listed in my shop HERE. I'm working on offering them as a necklace also, these should be listed in the week, if not sooner. these are perfect if you choose a word for the year, or if you need a constant reminder of something, or just for a phrase/word that really resonates with you. if you have any questions about these, feel free to shoot me an email

i've completed almost a full week of drinking 100oz water a day, as well as having cut sugar out of my diet! i'm feeling great. still going to pee constantly, but hey! i'm feeling fully committed to finally making these dietary changes that i've been thinking about for so long. if you want to cut sugar out, the amazing elisabeth has set up a support group, send her a request on fb to join us.

you've heard me rave about laura emily and her home apothecary course a zillion times already. but i'm going to do it again ;) she is one amazingly inspirational lady, and i am so blessed to have such a friend in my life. she has a couple more courses opening up soon - 10 day fast ecourse and sacred space workshop. also, the apothecary circle is opening up to new members in march, if you missed out last time, nows your chance - you won't regret it, signing up was the best decision i ever made :D you can use code 'Herbs180' to get 15% off the cost of any of these in the good earth living etsy
