new shop listings!

It's been a while! But I'm finally getting back on top of things. Yesterday I listed these four cute envelope pouches in my ETSY SHOP. They're all made from vintage fabrics, and have heavy interfacing for extra stability - meaning no floppy pouches!!! I've got more items to photograph and list this week....

Go grab yourself one before it's too late ;) I'll be back later with bits + pieces from our weekend.

ghost song

The Doors - The Ghost Song

Awake.
Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach and cooled jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it's quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.

Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake

Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.

Indians scattered,
On dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young childs
Fragile eggshell mind

We have assembled inside,
This ancient and insane theater
To propagate our lust for our life,
And flee the swarming wisdom of the streets.

The barns have stormed
The windows kept,
And only one of all the rest
To dance and save us
From the divine mockery of words,
Music inflames temperament.

Ooh great creator of being
Grant us one more hour,
To perform our art
And perfect our lives.

We need great golden copulations,

When the true kings murders
Are allowed to roam free,
A thousand magicians arise in the land
Where are the feast we are promised?

One more thing

Thank you oh lord
For the white blind light
Thank you oh lord
For the white blind light

A city rises from the sea
I had a splitting headache
From which the future's made

sunshine

so happy to have woken up to sunny skies! especially as i'm onto day two of a migraine and i feel terrible :/ the Mr is at work, so no chance of rests for me today - all i really feel like doing is hiding under my duvet where it's dark and quiet. i'll be a happy mama when i get to bed tonight!

we're about to head out for a walk, hoping that the fresh air will clear my head somewhat and the kiddos can burn a little energy off too!

then, i think it'll be a quiet afternoon of crafting and movie watching. i'm not up to much else today.

here are a couple of great links that I wanted to share with you:

THESE amazing vintage paper dolls. My girls can't wait for me to print them out so they can play!!

gratitude

Instead of focusing on what we don't have, on what we wish we did have.

Focus instead on what we already have.

On all the good in our life.

Our loved ones, family and friends.

Be grateful for having a home,

for being safe

for having food to eat

and clothes to wear.

Be thankful for the opportunities you have.

Make the most of every single day,

give thanks for the life you have,

instead of grieving for the life you wish you had.

life...

the last couple of weeks have been never ending. we seem to have been rushing from one thing to the next. I'm in serious need of some rest and relaxation! Lola and her daddy had tickets to watch a Narnia movie at hte cinema this morning (free, as part of National Films for Schools Week) and the little two were meant to have an art workshop. That was cancelled at the last minute, so we did some painting and baking at home instead.

G's Nain and Taid (Welsh for Grandma and Grandad!) came at lunchtime for the afternoon. It's been a while since we saw them, and they came ladden with gifts for the girlies!!!

We made quiches for lunch, and a scrummy lemon sponge for afters :) They've just left now, and the girls are curled up watching snow white, while I try and do some jobs (and keep my eyes open!)

I feel a walk is in order soon - I need some fresh air, else I'll be asleep well before their bedtime, I'm one exhasuted mama. I can never get to sleep at night very easily, and with Miss Baya still needing me in the night, I never feel totally rested. I'd kill for an uninterrupted nights sleep ;)

Tonight, I'm watching 'The Other Bolyen Girl' then hoping for some good zzzzz's!!! We've the last of our free films to watch tomorrow - Cars 2 - home ed has some very good benefits!!! We rarely go to the cinema as it's so darn expensive, so 4 films in a week is a treat lol

lemon sponge cake, with homemade apple and blackberry jam (courtsey of my daddy!)
quiches :)

Baya decided to 'decorate' Mr Bear when he was asleep in a box ;)

What I Wore: Autumn Days

we've had to dig out gloves and scarves here this week! it has been freezing!!!! that doesn't help this mama want to get out of her nice warm bed in a morning, let me tell you!

I took these yesterday - it may have been cold but at least the sun was shining! today, no such luck. It is raining heavily - and I really need to run and get some groceries :( the nights are drawing in quickly now, it's starting to get dark so early - I hate those winter days when it's dark by 4pm.

this jacket was thrift shop bargain last week - £1.99!! I was very happy - and the boots I got for the same price a couple of weeks back. Gotta love me some bargains!

we're off shopping today, I need some ear muffs to keep my ears cosy, and the girls want 'onsies' to keep them cosy ;)

I am 23, a wife to a wonderful husband named Sean and a mommy to a fluffy cat Lexi. I live in beautiful rainy Oregon and I blog about day to day things, I join lots of link ups and share whatever I can about my life. I'm a people person and a great friend. I have a FB blog page and I love Pinterest too- check out my blog and let's swap buttons.

  etsyblog
My name is Giulia and I blog over Another Diamond Day. I am Italian and have been living in the UK for 4 years. I am currently living in London with my boyfriend Nick. I write alot about our little adventures in this big city on my blog. I also like writing about traveling, art and music and cooking!

Hi, there! I’m Tricia and I blog at mama marchand’s musings. You can also find me tweeting (a lot) @mamamarchand. I’m a part-time working mama who is head over heels for the hubs and loves being a new-ish mama to our daughter, little N.

I started my blog three years ago, before I really knew what blogging even was. I just knew I wanted to write! It picked up speed in 2009 when we found out we were pregnant with our daughter, as a way to keep long distance friends & family updated on our life. Now? It’s a huge passion of mine and gives me my own space to muse about marriage, mamahood & lessons I’m learning in this crazy life.

I love all things handmade, cupcakes, organizing (it’s an addiction, really), coffee (a necessity), thrifting & shopping for deals, and blogging, of course. I just opened my etsy shop, Mama’s Nest Designs, and I love creating handmade jewelry with new and upcycled materials.

My name is Kami and I'm a tattooed and crafty mommy blogger. In my spare time (what little I have with a newborn!) I can be seen running around my house in dress up clothes, sometimes glue gunning my fingers together, and often hunched over my sewing machine madly creating new stuffies. I live to create, love to thrift, and hope to start my own home based business one day....stop by the blog and follow along on my adventures in parenthood, mothering, crafting, and gardening!

 embrace the apockylypse

Hello darlings! I'm Pocky from embrace the apockylypse. My blog is a geek-loving perfectionist's guide to taking little AHA! moments & bringing creativity to everyday life. I started eTa with the idea of it being the first baby step to move from my zombie job to my dream job of opening my own online crafty shop. But then things started to grow & it became a place for me to make friends & talk about some of the things I love most: crafts, life & geekery. The one thing that keeps me blogging is the great friends I've made so far through blogging, so please come by & say hello! I promise I won't bite...hard.

I am Chantilly, a singer-songwriter and indie fashion lover :) I post outfits and ponder life experiences in my blog, as well as chronicle the adventure of making my next set of recordings. I've studied music composition, toured the northeast, and released an album last year! (You can download some of those songs for free on my bandcamp page!)

The new record is almost finished, and right now I'm gearing up for the release. I couldn't be prouder of what we've put to tape, and the experience has been dreamy, exciting, and rewarding. It'll be out in the next few months... so be on the lookout!

Hi I'm Marilyn and I'm the gal behind Pulp Sushi, an online boutique selling her handmade jewelry along with vintage-inspired items from fellow artists. "Handmade Nostalgia Love" is the overall theme for Pulp Sushi. The jewelry I make is inspired by mid-century accessories and vintage pinup glamor. I am an ardent supporter of quality handmade sellers and artists. My blog is narrative about what it's like to run (and build) a small business along with living in the Hudson Valley of New York. When I'm not glued to my computer, I like to knit, read books, catch up with some of my favorite shows (ie: Rachel Zoe & Top Model) and watch old horror and 1970's movies with my boyfriend.

Monday, Monday

i love the advice in the photo above, i might have to print it out and stick it on my fridge.

I'm playing at single parenthood for a couple of days - the Mr has gone to London for a funeral. So the girlies and I are home alone ;) we've a playdate later on... after getting their 'school' work done this morning! Yesterday we picked some sloes so I can make sloe gin... hoping to get that underway later on too :)

I think we might go shopping for some pumpkins too - I have the urge to start decorating for Halloween! i woke up this morning, with my head full of witches and ghouls... time to transform this house!

this evening I'm determined to curl up and finally get around to teaching myself to crochet. I have the hooks, and the wool, and some videos bookmarked on youtube. I've done a little, and kinda know what I'm doing, but I want to crack it once and for all so I can attempt Beth's granny square pattern! Any tips great fully received!!

Saturday Sun

It's been a crazy busy week here.. between 'school work', home ed groups, playdates, cinema visits, rainbows/brownies, drs appointments.... we've barely had time to catch our breath all week! And I've managed to fit in some creating time too :)

today is a home day... the girls are snuggled on the sofa watching some old Tom and Jerry's - they are exhausted after the week! I'm trying to get caught up again on laundry/housework, and waiting for my grocery order to be delivered :)

i got my ipod on to keep me moving - here's some of what i've been listening too :)
