another wet day here, i'm catching up on all the orders that were placed over the weekend, getting a giant pile of parcels posted, doing a little housework, the kiddos are crafting away, we have a friend visiting this afternoon, i'm working on my own website {just bought hosting, so excited and totally confused ha!} and nursing a sore throat - a normal kinda day ;) what do you have planned for your monday?

pretty things // feather love

my home is full of feathers. there is something truly magical about them. i've been collecting them for a long time, they have a way of coming across my path when i need them. almost every morning when i walk outside to say good morning to the world, a single white feather floats down near to me. feathers can be a message from an angel... they certainly appear to me when i most need a sign. i love filling vintage jars full of all the feathers i've found - they look so pretty and remind me of the beauty and love that surrounds us all

this is one of my favourite songs... i love joni mitchell so much, but this song always stirs something deep inside me. it's a great song about the cycle of life, and being desperate to grow up to fulfill your dreams, only to grow up and lose the grandeur of the dreams that once drove you. i'm feeling a yearning inside me this past week... my emotions are all over. perhaps it's to do with last weeks full moon, and this month being a blue moon month. i feel the start of a new cycle approaching in my life.

saturday sun

it's a long weekend here in the uk for the queens jubillee. i'm looking forward to relaxing and enjoying some time with family. yesterday was a stressful day trying to sort out some coding issues on here and the kiddos were all in foul moods too :( today is full of drama lessons, history classes and swimming at the end of the day. fingers crossed it doesn't rain tomorrow as we're off to a viking living history day :)

it's a happy monday here - we have the girls auntie visiting, so we've been catching up, playing games and listening to some music. the kiddos and i all love the beatles - we visited the beatles museum in liverpool last year, nothing makes me happier than listening to my two year old singing "will you still love me, when i'm 64" :)

we had a fun, chilled weekend and we're all set up for the week. i'm hoping to get a few new pieces listed in the shop this week, and there's still a couple of days left to enter the giveaway. I also have one or two ad spaces left if you want to jump on board for february - it's going to be a fun month!

Good morning!! Hope you're all having a great weekend :) the Mr's taken the kiddos out to the park for an hour this morning, so I'm enjoying a little time to myself! A friend emailed me a link to this music video yesterday and I ♥♥♥ it so much! It is so beautiful and moving, i've been listening to it {and some other of their songs} pretty much constantly!

also yesterday I managed to squeeze in a little crafty time... I need my daily dose of creativity to keep my soul happy! Here's a couple images of what I drew

Tuesday Thoughts

I've had this song stuck in my head for days now! I've listened to it over and over but it's not budging!!

We had the most beautiful weekend - the sun was shining and it was glorious! It's so amazing to be able to spend all day outside... we relished every single second of it. I need more sunlight - it makes me feel so alive, and I am so happy to jump out of bed in a morning when I see blue skies! Sitting in the garden, a breeze blowing through my hair and the sun warming my skin fills my heart with joy ♥♥♥

I've had a lazy few days, recharging my batterys - enjoyind some much needed rest. Now it's time to crack back on with my to-do list!

Magical Music

 

I discovered Icelandic songstress Emiliana Torrini late last night (which is why I'm so tired today from staying up and listening to all of her songs!!) The first song I listened too was a cover of 'If You Go Away', it gave me the chills and sent me off to find more to listen too. She is completly enchanting. If you haven't come across her before I strongly suggest you watch this video NOW!!

I've just downloaded a couple of her albumns into my itunes, so will be driving my husnband crazy for the next few days/weeks listening to nothing else. 

I'm looking for suggestions for other new music too. I have a pretty electic taste, anything from Nirvana to Simon and Garfunkely, RATM to Joan Baez. What do you love to listen to? Have you come across any new artists that you'd recommend??
