Foodie Post: Cinnamon Swirls

Nothing beats the smell of these cinnamon swirls cooking... the hardest part is waiting for them to cool and firm up before you eat them!!!

You'll need:

2 1/2 cups plain flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarb
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cups milk
6 Tablespoons unsalted butter
Cinnamon

Mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder and bicarb together, and rub in the butter. Then slowly add in the milk and knead into a smooth dough {you might not need all the milk, add a little at a time, until it just comes together, you don't want it to be sticky!}

Roll out on a floured surface (you want it to be around 5mm thick)

Spread with butter and sprinkle with a mix of sugar and cinnamon

Roll up into a sausage, then cut into slices. Place flat on a greased baking tray, and bake at 200 C/400 F/Gas Mark 6  for around 20 minutes, until just turing golden brown around the edges, allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Perfect with a cup of tea :)

  3. Yum! I definitely see why you'd want to eat them all before they've cooled!
