ten years

today marks ten whole years of marriage. in some ways it seems like a lifetime, in others it feels like the blink of an eye - that's life i guess! i am incredibly lucky i know, i am grateful everyday that he came into my life when he did. we were only 21 and we've grown up together in some ways. together we've made a life and three beautiful daughters.

we met at college, we were in the same sociology class and occasionally ended up in the pub in a group. when. in the february, i ended up in hospital, he was there. when others backed off he stayed put and supported me. he gave me a reason to live, literally, and was my rock. i moved into the shared house he was living in around the april. we had an amazing summer.... doing not very much but doing it together. one lazy afternoon, laying around in our room, we summer stumbled across the topic of marriage. we both already knew that it would happen one day, but we decided that we could do it now. so we made the plans to head to gretna green. we kept it a secret, and early one friday morning we made the long drive to scotland.

we grabbed a couple of witness of the streets, and a bouquet from the florists, and at half past three we said "i do".

i'm sure there were many who doubted our marriage would last, it was a whirlwind romance but i knew that it was the right path to take. ten years and three children on, i am forever grateful that he came into my life. i know without a doubt that i wouldn't be here if he hadn't. we've had our ups and downs, but we've stuck together through it all.

happy anniversary to my man.... i love you to the moon and back :)

guestpost // paper chain fairies diy

Last weekend we had lots of fun decorating the girl’s bedroom windows with fairy paper chains. I thought it would be fun to share our pattern. So here’s a little how to for all “This Enchanted Pixie” readers

First we traced one of the fairies from the PDF image onto the top edge of a piece of paper .

Then we folded the paper into a concertina and cut out the selected areas, taking care not to cut through the wing joins.

Now for the fun part...

Opening out your paper chain...

These little paper chain fairies look really pretty draped from the window.

Here is the PDF pattern for you to download to make your own Paper chain Fairies!

pretty things // feather love

one // two // three // four // five // six

my home is full of feathers. there is something truly magical about them. i've been collecting them for a long time, they have a way of coming across my path when i need them. almost every morning when i walk outside to say good morning to the world, a single white feather floats down near to me. feathers can be a message from an angel... they certainly appear to me when i most need a sign. i love filling vintage jars full of all the feathers i've found - they look so pretty and remind me of the beauty and love that surrounds us all

here's an old favourite to listen to:

pleasure in the pathless woods...

source

this is one of my favourite poems, it's beautiful and exquisite... fills me with the urge to get outside and enjoy this beautiful world. i didn't have a specific blog planned for today... i was wondering what on earth to write... life lately has been full and wonderful. we're enjoying life and basking in all that is on offer right now. i realised that i don't need to feel bad about not having anything world changing to share on here today - i'm busy enjoying life ;)

dress, necklace & leggings - c/o oasap.com
shoes - thrifted

i shared a sneak peak at these clothes yesterday.. here they are for you to see properly. i just love this dress, it's so pretty - though a little warm for the sunny spell we're having again! i love the sleeve length - i don't' tend to wear full length sleeves, for some reason i feel weird in them, so these three-quarter length ones are perfect, especially come the cooler days. the ribbed leggings are comfy and a change from the usual black ones i wear - and the outfit is completed with the cute owl necklace {i have so many!!} all three pieces are from oasap.com - if you sign up you get a 20% off coupon!

i cut my fringe short last week on a whim.... so much for growing it out! i'm torn between loving it and wishing i hadn't ha! i'm considering switching up the red in my hair for a different colour - perhaps turquoise? taking my littlest two kiddos to the cinema this morning to see the pirates, while lola is out at book club and a sports group! i'm so in need of some lazy days!
