earth medicine >>>>

the past couple of days have been blissful.

the sun has shone.

the sky was blue.

we spent most of our time outside, tending to our garden.

after a long winter spent inside, it felt so good to get out.

to dig some vegetable beds over, plant this years onions & garlic.

begin the preparations for laying a lawn.

fingers deep in the earth, i felt so connected, so grounded, so thankful for this life.

nature truly is my religion.

it was just what my soul needed. i'm full and grounded again. ready to tackle the final parts of my new website. i'm hoping to launch either tomorrow or monday... fingers crossed there won't be any glitches and this domain should redirect you straight across. my rss feed should update itself, but if you don't already you can find me on facebook and twitter - follow me there for any updates incase you find this space down for any reason.

it's a little sad to leave this old blog behind... rest assured all content will move with me, and i'm so excited for this new step on my path

sweater is from fringe and feather - you can buy one here

yesterday was just what i/we needed. we dropped all responsibilities, packed up a picnic and went down to the river. we're lucky enough to live only a twenty minute walk from the countryside. i've mentioned many times on here that it's my happy place... the place i go to ground myself and to seek peace and solitude. we've all been adjusting to some changes these past couple weeks - the mr having gone back to college, the kiddos and i to a new routine now homeschool is back in after our summer break. a day with nature was exactly what we needed. we all came home feeling refreshed, and questions that had been floating around my mind found answers.

i added some pretty new river stones to my collection and we found a bird skull too! miss baya is in love with the horses {the grey one especially} so we stopped to spend a little time with them. today i have the urge to 'spring'{autumn?} clean my house... getting ready for the new season almost upon us.

one last thing - i'm excited to be a part of a brand new blog project started by elisabeth - the mama earth project - it just launched so please go and check it out.

look deep into nature...

Leah Flores
when everything gets on top of me, and i'm feeling overwhelmed... the best thing i can do is drop everything, pack picnic and head out into nature. away from the computer, and the noise, and the never ending to-do list. out where i can hear the birds singing and the river whooshing by. down to the river, where the kiddos can paddle and build dams, and we can eat under the shade of a tree. or up a mountain where i can see for miles.

without the distractions of daily life and the constant humming of the computer or my phone i can think. think through all the things that i'm not sure about and everything seems a little easier. i long to run away into the wilds of nature and stay there - far away from the modern world.

we've just been kitting ourselves out ready to do some camping - my heart is excited at the thought of it!! any tips for taking kiddos camping??

p.s i decided to keep the free shipping offer running a while longer, and this week all earrings are buy one pair, get a pair free!! head HERE to shop now!

saturday sun

saturday whizzed round again fast this week! it's been a busy but fun week. we've caught up with friends, and enjoyed a couple days out. we released the butterfly's except from one little fella who can't fly, every time he tries he ends up on his back :( so we're looking after him in the butterfly net still! i can see some heartbroken girlies when he leaves us.

despite the rain this week we took a couple of nature walks and found a beautiful bird egg, and some more feathers for our collection.

we were also lucky enough to be gifted a climbing frame this week. the girls were so excited as their daddy was building it! our woods are slowly turning into our own private playground {complete with bunnies hopping around}

i'm getting caught up on some housework this morning, then we're off for a community picnic this afternoon! fingers crossed the sun keeps shining! hope you all have fun plans for your weekends xxx
