it's been another busy week for my tribe. miss kiki celebrated six turns around the sun, she was a lucky girlie and got a giant pile of gifts! her favourite was her very own blythe doll :)

we've been enjoying the sun when it makes an appearance, and getting the last things ready for homeschool to start on monday! we snuck in a fun evening around the fire with friends and guitars - my favourite kind of evening.

today is for housework and a little gardening... we finally have a date to get our chickens {we're getting ex-battery hens} - 6th October!!! we can't wait!

this little miss turns six today! hard to believe it's six years since she was born at home in the middle of the night, after an incredibly short two hour labour!! she's still something of a whirlwind, always up to something and forever making me giggle. she's not afraid to say what she's thinking {or wind her sisters up!}

we're having a small bbq/tea party {weather dependant} today.

birthday celebrations

thank you for all the birthday wishes! you made my day extra special :) i had a fantastic birthday - quite possibly the best ever. thankfully the summer weather we've been having hung around for my birthday. we packed up a picnic and headed down to the river for a family picnic on my acutal birthday. it was so peaceful - all we could hear was the birds singing and the water flowing by. it was pure bliss. we walked around the woods too, paddled our toes {though the water was pretty chilly!} and soaked up the sun. we came home and ordered an indian takeaway, then the mr and i watched a movie once the kiddos were sleeping.

gift wise i was totally spoilt. i got a new record player and some more vinyl for my collection, 3 pairs of new shoes, some owl tops, a remote for my camera, some crafty goodies, and a couple of new books. i also got a few new owls for my collection!!

friday, a friend and i took all the kiddos to chester, werhe there is a mad hatters tea shop. we treated ourselves to a delicious cream tea, then had a wander around the shops for an hour {i picked up some lush treats for my bath}

finally, last night we had friends roudn for a bbq/fire. it's one of my favourite ways to spend an evening - fire, friends, food and music is the combination for a perfect evening. after a busy couple days of birthday celebrations i'm taking it easy this weekend - the girls had a birthday party this afternoon, now they're watching anastasia while i get a few bits of work odne!

ahem...  yup! it's my birthday!! somehow i am 31 - where the heck did that come from?! my plans for the day are to open my gifts {hopefully!} eat lots of cake and and head down to the river for a picnic. tomorrow i'm off to a mad hatters tea shop with a friend, then we're having a bbq + fire tomorrow night :D

Yesterday's celebrations

here's a few peaks at Miss Kiki's 5th birthday yesterday. She was so excited - she spent most of the day bouncing up and down :)

We watched Rango at the cinema, had a fun game of bowling and then stuffed ourselves silly at Nando's! We came home and spent the evening colouring, playing games and, of course, having birthday cake!!!
