what mama wore//of woods and words >>>>

= outfit details =
headband -  c/o yes sir, yes sir
vest - thrifted
top - thrifted
leggings - ebay
boots - ebay

there's been a little bit of full moon madness going on around here. for some reason, i never connect the two until after i've gotten super stressed. my emotions have been running crazy the past couple days, paired with a bout of insomnia, i've been a bit of a wreck. i finally gave myself the ok to feel this way yesterday, permission to sink into it, to not fight my feelings. somehow giving myself that permission always makes the difference. to acknowledge that my feelings are valid and to listen to them seems to allow me to work through and past them.

i'm tired this morning after another sleepless night, but feeling a little calmer - and excited for our friends who just had their first baby. i cannot wait for some snuggles!!

this past weekend was so blessed. thank you to each and every one of you who bought from my shop over the black friday//cyber monday sales. and a huge thanks to those who came and supported me at my open house. i think i'm just about caught up on orders. the shop got a mini-facelift yesterday. i have big plans brewing for my shop. i'm excited to fill in leonie's business planner and work towards my goals!

can we talk about this vest for a minute?! it was a bargain find over the summer at a car-boot sale. i think it cost me all of fifty pence. it's so snuggle, and my girls give me extra cuddles when i wear it. bonus! these boots are literally falling to pieces... i love these kinda boots but i wreck them in weeks. the headband was a gift from ada, i love how it matches my new hair perfectly! her shop is full of beautiful, handknit items - i especially love the owl cozies ;)

what mama wore // true blue >>>>

goodbye red! i finally got around to changing up my hair! i opted for a turquoise, it came out a little bluer, but i'm loving it. three + a half years of red was enough - it was time for a change. what do you think?? i also am loving this straight hair. my hair is naturally wavy, and generally i am too lazy don't have time to straighten it. i normally just leave it to air dry. however, i got sent this new hair tool, an instyler to try out. it worked amazingly. i have a flat iron, but it seems to take an age to straighten my hair out with it. this, well, it took minutes. it has a brush attached, as well as a rotating barrel. you can use it to make curls also - i'll be giving that a go soon ;) you can find out more about it here

it's amazing how a new 'do can make you feel rejuvenated. my kiddos loved it too - they just want to play hairdressers now! what do you think of my new do??

this is what i wore on sunday, just a lazing around, family kinda day :) nothing special - but somehow those days are the best

boots - ebay
jeans - thrifted
tights - primark
cardigan - thrifted
vest - new look
t-shirt - thrifted
owl necklace - this enchanted pixie

you can find out more about the instyler and purchase one here

poppy cat and friends >>>>>

poppy cat books have been a favourite read of all three of my girls as toddlers//preschoolers. so miss baya was excited to receive these poppy cat figures  and talking plush in the post the other day.  she had a great afternoon acting out the stories with her new friends {and introducing them to themselves in the book ha!} the little plush has been given pride of place in her bed :)

interesting fact.... the little dog is called zuzu which we almost called dd2 before changing our minds and naming her kiki!

review // bags of love

http://www.bagsoflove.co.uk/images/generic/bags-of-love-logo-2.gif

i've been longing for a large picture of my kiddos to put up on the wall for a while. looking on-line for somewhere i could order one, i came across photo gifts from bagsoflove, i was impressed by the range of items that they offered, as well as the reasonalble prices and ordered a photo canvas from bags of love, it came a couple of days later and it is so beautiful!

the quality is fantastic and it looks beautiful hanging on our wall! so nice to have such a memento of this moment in our kiddos lives. i will definitely order from bags of love again - i'm thinking they'd be great for  fathers day gifts with unique photos for mine and the mr's fathers this year. they make bags, cushion covers, shower curtains, placemats plus a tonne of other gifts all personalised with your own photographs - such a fun idea!

whilst i received the photo canvas for free in return for this post, all opinions stated are my own!!

How To Shoot Your Kid (A review)

One of my beautiful sponsors this month, Maggie Keegan Gross, was kind enough to send me a complimentary copy of her e-book "How To Shoot Your Kid".

The book is based on her original "How TO Shoot Your Kids" workshop. It's full of non-technical technique (if ya follow me) for capturing those precious moments. Whether you're using a DSLR, a point and shoot or even just your camera phone... Maggie has plenty of tips and tricks for getting some fantastic pictures of your kiddo. Including topics on lighting, composition and capturing the moment as well as some tricks of the trade.

Whether you're a beginner photographer or have a bit more experience, I'd highly recommend this e-book. I'm excited to get out and put some of what I've learnt into practice - I have a feeling my girls will be begging me to put the camera away soon!!!!

Maggie is giving away a copy of this ebook in my giveaway - go enter here for a chance to win!!

You can also purchase your own copy here - and if you use coupon PIXIE at checkout you can get it for $5 instead of the usual $8!!
