I came across Megan Monique and her blog a few weeks back, and I was bowled over by her positivity. It's something I've been working hard at lately, and she came into my life at just the right time to show me the way. She's kindly agreed to share some wise words with us here....
A year ago from this month I faced one of the most important days of my life.
It was my birthday week and I was in Port Aransas, Texas with some of my friends. At the time I was financially broke. I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay the bills or my rent when I got back, but I knew that I really needed to go on that vacation- for whatever reason.
That week was magical. At the time I was reading Marianne Williamson’s book, A Return to Love. The wisdom shared in those pages was enough to change my life forever.
The night before my birthday my friends and I made a campfire on the beach. I heard the ocean calling my name. While my friends were making s’mores and chatting it up I walked out into the ocean, opened up my arms, looked into the sky and surrendered everything.
I was tired of carrying around financial worries, personal worries and burdens. After reading that book I knew that by releasing my ‘control’ over my life to The Universe I would move from the stuck and into the flow.
The flow is a good place to be.
When you give up the control you think you have, you move into a space of Universal flow. This allows you to move with the current of life instead of against it.
I mean think about it, you are this tiny spec in the Universe, do you really think you know better for yourself than the eternal energy that lives within each and every one of us?
Loosen your grip. Trust the flow. Open your mind and await the happiness that is on its way.

Beautiful post. I think we all need reminding just to go with the flow sometimes. Swimming against the tide can be so tiring.

Talie,
ReplyDeleteWell said. It always comes as a shock to me when I acknowledge that I have not surrendered a situation. As humans, it is hard to let go of the notion that we don't have control. But when you look closely, you will see that the only control we do have is over our actions. Not the way our circumstances occur. Thanks for you comment and beautiful reminder.
