A quick, easy and money saving DIY for you today. Valentine chocolates can cost way more to buy. So instead of spending extra I make my own - plus it means you can customise them to excatly what you like!
I bought my silicone heart mold in Wilkinsons a couple of years ago. I'm sure you can pick them up in plenty of kitchen stores though.
Asides from a mold, all you need is some good quality chocolate (I used around 200g of milk chocolate) and any extras you like - nuts, dried fruit, crushed toffee/caramel pieces. Whatever you like in your chocolate (or whoever you're making it for likes!)
Break your chocolate into a bowl, and melt over a pan of boiling water.
Once your chocolate is all melted, remove from the heat and stir in any extra's you are using.
If the holes in your mold are fairly small like mine, then anything you add wants to be in fairly small pieces. Once everything is mixed together, spoon it into each hole in your mold.
Place in the fridge for an hour until the chocolate is set, then turn out
