Living Life Your Way....Interview with Maryam Gerling Salassi

I've been working hard the last few months at overcoming my fears and following my dreams. So I'm running a series of interview with inspiring people to see what part fear has played in their life and how they've overcome it to live life their way...

This weeks interview is with Maryam Gerling Salassi from Pamplemousse!

*Hey! Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Maryam and I'm an Elementary Art Teacher, Wife, Blogger and soon to be Mother.  I love art and creating in general and try to incorporate it into my life as much as possible.

*Is the life you lead now the life you've always dreamt of?
It's very close!  I love my job, I love my husband, I love my little family and even though I have "settled down" we still have adventures!

*When you have faced difficulties, what has been your inspiration to keep going?
I've had a pretty blessed life in that I haven't gone through many difficulties but when I have had trouble with something I have been able to rely on my family and my husband to keep me positive and to hash out the best way to get through the issue.  I also tend to have a positive outlook and can always find a way to make things better or at least find the light at the end of the tunnel.

*Fear affects us all at some point. What part has fear played in your life and how have you overcome it?
The biggest fear I'm going through right now is the fear that I won't be a good mother.  I suppose that's more of a fear of the unknown than anything else.  Like most things I'm just going to jump in with both feet and figure it out along the way.  I've gotten pretty good at "winging it."

*What advice would you offer on following your heart and living your dreams?
I think my best advice would be to just DO IT.  There is a time for planning but sometimes you just have to jump in and figure things out along the way.  I find that if you just let go, everything will fall into place.

*What do you think are the three most important things you need to lead a happy and radiant life?
1. Be flexible
2. Be positive
3. Figure out what makes you happy and DO IT!
