winter cure all >>>>

growing up, the first sign of a cold or flu, we got dosed up on hot honey and lemon drinks. they work wonders, especially if you through in a little ginger too {and whisky perhaps!}

the past couple winters i've kept a jar full of this cure all mix, ready and waiting in the fridge. a good spoonful in a mug of hot water is the perfect remedy when you're feeling ill. alternatively, a spoonful straight from the jar will soothe a sore throat or ease a cough.

peel and slice a 2" piece of root ginger, thinly slice a lemon, place in your empty jar and cover over with honey {i prefer raw}. it'll keep indefinitely in the fridge.

pee.ess- ally did a lovely feature on the curiosities in my home yesterday - go take a peek!

  2. Love this! The first time that I had this I was sick on my winter vacation to Italy. We went into a cafe and told the guy I was sick and he brought this out for me. I felt soo much better, and I will always love this drink!

  3. Hmm... I have some local honey here. I should get some lemon and ginger and make this for my mom, she's not feeling too great right now =-(

  5. This sounds so interesting! I am a VERY finicky tea drinker, so the typical lemon (which is a flavor I don't like) and honey tea combo is... bleh for me. This actually sounds delicious!
