Living Life Your Way....Interview with Brittany Wallrath

I've been working hard the last few months at overcoming my fears and following my dreams. So I'm running a series of interview with inspiring people to see what part fear has played in their life and how they've overcome it to live life their way...

This weeks interview is with Brittany from Rebel Road Sister

*Hey! Tell us a little about yourself.
Hi! I'm Brittany from RebelRoadSister.com a blog about horseback riding, yoga and traveling...and sometimes running. I have many passions but mainly I enjoy life, nature and learning new things.
*Is the life you lead now the life you've always dreamt of?
Yes, well, kind of!  If I can categorize myself in anyway, it would be that I am a dreamer.  My goals and opinions, wants and needs change like the weather.  I once heard Diane Von Furstenberg on an Oprah interview say "I didn't always know what I wanted to do, but I always knew the type of person I wanted to be."  I loved that.  I am the type of person I always dreamed of being.  I may not have my dream job or dream house but those things do not make who I am.
*When you have faced difficulties, what has been your inspiration to keep going?
My family and friends as well as my long term life goals.  If I want to accomplish things I know I have to take the good with the bad.  When difficulties arise, I try to learn from them and move on. I don't let anyone hold me back. Yoga always helps too.

*Fear affects us all at some point. What part has fear played in your life and how have you overcome it?
I love to travel - it's one of my favorite things to do. In August, I took a solo trip to Montana for a Horseback Riding and Yoga Retreat.  I was terrified of traveling alone. Since none of my friends share my passion of Montana, horses and yoga, I knew if I wanted to go I would have to go alone. Honestly, it was the best decision I have ever made.  I had so much fun and now traveling alone is no big deal!
Fear affects me a lot. Trying to overcome it is a daily battle.  But if we don't push through the fear, we will never accomplish anything. If I hadn't pushed through my fear, I would have never went to Montana (a trip that has changed me so much).

*What advice would you offer on following your heart and living your dreams?
I am so thankful to have come from a family who fully supported all of my dreams as a child. If one month I wanted to be a painter, they lovingly supported me and got me painting supplies. If another month I wanted to be a surfer, they brought me to the beach for lessons. Growing up, I never understood why people do things they don't love.  Life should be fun and exciting.  You should be passionate about everything you do from eating to your job. If you want to do something, make it happen

*What do you think are the three most important things you need to lead a happy and radiant life?
Love, Dreams & Laughter.  I can't imagine a day without those three things.
