The Little Things....

The last couple weeks have been crazy busy. A weekend back home at my Dad's for my Grandma's funeral. That was bittersweet, as although we had to say a sad goodbye, we also got to spend the weekend with family we don't see often. The girls enjoyed a chance to play with their cousins (as well as beat up their uncles ha!), and it was nice to spend a couple days back where I grew up.

When we got back home, I spent a couple of days catching up on all the laundry, and tackling some housework. I managed to paint my bathroom - gone is the chipped and scuffed magnolia, in it's place is a sunny yellow!

Then my sister-in-law came to visit. We haven't seen her for about 18months, and she's being sent out to Afganistan soon (she's a nurse in the RAF) so it was great to catch up with her. We had a weekend of more catching up around the house, a little crafting, a little 'school work' and then my parent's in law came for a quick visit too!

Now I'm looking forward to 10 days of 'normal;ity' before my mum comes to visit! Crazy times. But the best, it's the little things that make up the tapestry of our lives. I've on a mission to spruce up this house the best I can given a very tight budget and the fact it's a rented house!!!!

  2. Thanks. It's sad to think she's gone. It's making me wish we lived nearer to our family so we could spend more time with them x

  3. Enjoy the normality while you can, althought I've come to think lately 'normality' is a bit of an illusion. Enjoy life. Sprucing up your home is so much fun, enjoy!
